The Friends of Shippen Manor, a non-profit organization interested in helping to preserve and promote the history of Shippen Manor in Oxford, NJ, is sponsoring an essay contest open to all Warren County 8th and 12th graders.
The essay must address the question of “Why is Shippen Manor relevant in the 21st
Century?”
Essay
requirements are as follows: Essay submissions must be a minimum of 3 pages in
length, 12-point font, double-spaced, and citing all necessary sources. Please
include your name, address/phone number, school district, grade, and age in
your submission. Essays will be accepted from October 2015 through April 2016 and
the winning essay for each grade will be announced in late May 2016. One entry
per student allowed.
The winner in the 8th grade division will receive $100 and the winner in the 12th grade division will receive $200. Once notified, winners must arrange to claim their prize in person at Shippen Manor.
